Our work speaks for itself:

Matt Paprocki - President, Illinois Policy Institute

Matt’s Transformation

In 2019, Matt was asked to lead his nonprofit, but his poor speaking skills held him back. Nervous and unpolished, he came to us for help.

We worked with Matt to build confidence, craft stories, and connect with his audience. A year later, he delivered a powerful talk to 1,500 people, earning praise as a “natural” speaker.

Now, Matt is a sought-after leader and communicator, inspiring others with his message and impact.

"Bob has a superpower of listening to a speech and providing perfect feedback, in a friendly way. Also, Bob will listen to a speech over and over and over. Every time, he finds a way to help your speech improve. He is as invested as I am about the success of each talk. The main reason I would recommend The Ewing School is the results. Public speaking terrified me. Then I started working with the Ewing School. Their method and amazing team has helped me to overcome my fear, and I now enjoy public speaking. A large portion of life is the ability to convey ideas in a compelling way. The problem is that for most of us, the fear of public speaking prevents us from achieving our potential. The Ewing School helped me to effectively speak to crowds of fifty to three thousand. That has changed my life."

Kent Lassman - President, Competitive Enterprise Institute

Kent’s Story: Turning “Maybe” Into “Yes”:

After getting feedback that one of his speeches was “fine, but not memorable,” Kent wanted to upgrade his communication skills. Despite extensive public speaking experience, he knew there was untapped potential.

Kent came to the Ewing School. Through focused coaching, he clarified his message, tailored it to his audience, and practiced delivering it with impact.

One of Kent’s goals was to secure a speaking spot at a donor’s annual meeting. The opportunity would put Kent in front of a large audience of high-net-worth individuals who could help support his organization’s mission.

Kent worked with his coach to craft his pitch and finally got a “yes”! Not only that, the foundation asked Kent to speak a few weeks later in front of its Board of Directors – a prestigious opportunity that put him in front of key decision-makers months earlier than anticipated.

Kent’s success proves that even experienced speakers can reach new heights, unlocking remarkable opportunities.
By setting aside focused time, embracing accountability, and rehearsing with intention, Kent has made himself – and his organization – better.

“The Ewing School has made me better and the same is true for CEI.”

"Kent did incredibly well last night. He even got a few laughs! A critical CEI employee came to Kent this morning to tell him how much she loved his speech. She said that she recognized how hard he worked on it and it showed. Kudos to you!"

"Kent Lassman just delivered his evening talk at their donor summit in Scotland. You should be very proud of him and your coaching. Nicely done."

Kent in Action: Elevating Leadership Through Memorable Speeches

Greg Lukianoff - President, Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression

Greg’s Story:

Greg Lukianoff, President of the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, is a passionate defender of free speech who wanted to deliver scripted talks naturally.

Determined to refine his stage presence and connect more deeply with audiences, he partnered with Ewing School. Through one-on-one coaching, Greg refined every aspect of his craft: selecting vivid anecdotes, using humor strategically, and weaving ideas into a coherent narrative.

The culmination came for Greg when he was asked to give a commencement address in front of thousands. Greg delivered a powerful 5-minute address, transforming his ability to speak naturally from a script.

Greg’s influence continues to grow with high-profiel appearances on Bill Maher and Lex Fridman. He has also been invited to deliver a TED Talk in spring 2025.

Greg’s story is proof that even experienced communicators can overcome barriers to unlock new levels of influence.

"I'm proud how my remarks came out. It was something I had been meaning to say to staff for a very long time. Bob Ewing helped me uncover the key insight in my talk.”

“I think it’s important to show that we can be self-critical, tell ourselves that we'll do better next time, and still be proud of what we’ve done. Overall, the experience was pretty wonderful.”
